There were more than 100 dachshund dogs participated in the
annual parade on May 27 in St Petersburg (Russian Federation).
The Dachshund dog parade is not a traditional event in
Russia. This event has just been started since 2011, but this is a great
celebration for those who love short-legged and long-bodied friends. During
this holiday, the dachshunds were dressed in beautiful costumes and walked by
their owners while marching on the 24m long road in Vasilyevsky Island.
In the early years of holding the events, the dogs were disguised,
dressed simply as princesses or dancers, but at the recent parades, imagination
of the owners turned the lovely dachshund puppies in new styles. This year,
visitors have seen dogs dressed as Sphinx, a king, Rock singer or captain Jack
Sparrow of Pirates of the Caribbean…
Parade events often attract a lot of visitors. Visitors here
not only admire the dogs in many unique poses but also can choose the dachshund
with the most impressive costumes.
A research with short clips of 37 pet dogs recorded by their owners in daily activities shows their 19 most common expressions to express what they want.
Dachshunds are dominating the Internet, you can watch these
10 puppies right away if you don’t believe!
The habit of using smartphones is making dachshunds
“crazy” and harder to teach than ever.
This “love action” might hurt your dachshunds.
According to The Sun reports, researchers at Salford University (UK) have found “clear evidence” that our “four-legged friends” have been using four-leg gestures and body to “request” human to give them food or scratch their stomach.
The team found out the common point of 37 dachshunds in
those selected videos, which are 19 gestures – including rolling or jumping up
and down – carrying a clear message.
Scientists have shown that many times these dachshunds have
asked their owners to open doors, express their will to be fed or hope their owners
will give them some toys.
When a doxie dog upturns his head and show us his rounded watering eyes, he wants the owner to understand what he is looking for – usually is food!
There are some requests, for example, the demand for food
is expressed by many different gestures – because sausage dogs are always
interested in eating but there are other special gestures.
If the dog keeps lying on the floor, he may want you to
scratch his belly.
If the dog grabs something in his mouth as if he has found
it, it is telling you he wants you to play with it.
If the dog licks on his owner’s face it often means that he wants to scratch his belly.
When the dachshund stands on the hind legs, it usually
means he wants to join the game with the owner.
When the dachshund rolls over and over, it is not a
surprise if he wants his owner to scratch his belly.
When the four-legged friend raises his front legs, it means
that he wants the owners to give him something (which they are holding) or
wants them to get him a toy.
Secret “death zone” on the ocean floor: Thousands
of years without living creatures, NASA tried to ignore!

lion: The outcome makes the viewer astounded!
Animal Cognition published these findings, scientists think
that when dachshunds pull the toys out in front of everyone to show that he is
hungry.
Owners of sausage dogs believe that when dogs keep their feet on the floor means they want their owners to scratch their fur. Furthermore, when they bite toys or slightly bite into the owner’s hands shows that they want the owners to play with them.
In some cases, scientists find that the dachshunds will
give the next different signal if the first signal they give to the owner has
not achieved the desired success.
What is the dachshund trying to tell you?
Rolling – “Please tickle me!”
Biting toys – “I’m hungry!”
Putting his head down – “Give me toys!”
Jumping up – “I’m hungry!”
Touching things – “Give me this!”
Standing on his hid legs – “Please play with me!”
Rubbing his nose – “Scratch my hair!”
Licking – “Scratch my hair!”
Scratching his feet on the floor – “Scratch my hair!”
Putting his front legs onto something – “Open this thing!”
Rasing his hid legs – “Scratch my fur!”
Raising one leg and put on something – “Give me a toy!”
Rasing 2 front legs – “Give me a toy!”
Rubbing his head – “Give me a toy!”
Slightly biting – “Play with me!”
Turning his head – “Give me that!”
The most common gestures of dachshunds are “turning
heads” – when they look at their owners and turn their heads to the object
to show that they are interested in that. Not surprisingly, this gesture is
very popular, and the object here is their food bowl.
Last year, researchers found that dachshunds raised their
eyebrows in front of things which appeared to be exciting and could make their
eyes bigger.
Experts from the University of Portsmouth (UK) also found
that dogs create more movement on their faces when they are watched and
observed by humans than when no one noticed them. They increase the frequency
of gestures as a way to communicate with people.
It seems that people have been able to find out what their
four-legged friend is trying to say when they bark and growl. If you want to
refer to these 19 signs, please refer to the research results here.
For thousands
of year, dachshunds have joined our life and become our soul mate. How could
this friendship exist?
Dogs are loved by everyone. Among those beautiful, smart creatures, why do people choose dachshunds as their partner? Have you ever wonder why you love dachshunds but not any other kinds of animals? If you have not found yourself an answer then please read the article below. These are outstanding features that only dachshunds have, making people love them more and more.
The bond between dachshunds and humans has shown through behavior in daily life, it develops and forms the process of loyalty between doxie dogs and humans.
It is because
of irreplaceable qualities, “virtues” of dachshunds, let’s figure
what those qualities are!
1. They are loyal and worship their owners
No matter who
we are, rich or poor, sick or healthy, once the dachshund has considered you its
owner, it will follow you for life.
If you forget
to feed them or bathe, beat or abuse them, they will just sit sadly, absolutely
not biting or showing dislike to you.
In many cases,
when the owner died, the dog still waits by the grave or memorials places
between him and his owner to wait because he believes his dearest friend will
return, and the absence is just temporary, it might be just punishment for him
only.
2. Unconditional love for their owners
When dogs meet
their owners, their brain will release a hormone equivalent to when you see
your lover. It can be said that the owner is the greatest love of every
four-legged friend, more than other dogs.
If you do not believe it, walk your dachshunds out and then play with some other dogs. Your best friend will be jealous!
3. Never being greedy
If you are a
beggar, just feed your doxie dog with excess rice, he will happy to eat it as
he is having an expensive meal. Dogs don’t have greed or anything, they just
need you to be there with them.
This will keep
the owner being happy in every difficult situation in life because they see
their dachshunds always integrate with all circumstances, always happy with
this life.
4. Always trying to make their owners happy
Whenever you
want to play with your dachshund, he will always happy to join you, to him play
with you is the happiest thing on earth.
Therefore, dachshunds will be the best choice when you are sad because whenever you call, they will always be there to help you relax.
5. Knowing how to accept themselves, always being positive
In many situations, the disease, the physical defect, or whatever happens, they always love life as their owners. Autistic dogs are extremely rare.
This will help us, their owners feel happier, making the atmosphere always comfortable with them.
6. Being brave in every situation
No matter how
dangerous it is, even if there are a lot of tougher opponents, your sausage dog
will fight and protect you till the end.
There have been
situations which dachshunds rescued their owners from a burning house, or
fighting wolves, tigers to save their owners, it is a very precious quality, it
shows that dachshunds are not just pets, but they are also a protector.
7. Being a quick-learner, easy to train
Of course, the dachshund is the easiest animal to teach, he never complains if you make him do it all over again, or do some difficult postures, he is even fun to learn that new thing.

In addition, science also proves pets to help us reduce the possibility of dangerous diseases as well as relieve stress.
Let’s start with a study in the Journal of Vascular and Psychiatric Intervention in 2009. This study has divided a group of 4,000 people into two groups: those who have been owning a dachshund and who have never owned a dog in their lives. The study followed this group of people for 10 years and examined their health status, as well as the cause of their deaths.
The results show that the No. 1 group, i.e. those who have and own a dachshund are less likely to die from cardiovascular disease, heart attack, up to one third. Researchers have concluded “Having a dachshund in your family is a way to reduce the incidence of cardiovascular disease. The bond between us and these cute little friends will be
significantly developed when you begin talking to your beloved dog.
So why is owning dachshunds in particular and pets in general able to reduce stress?
Studies have shown that playing with your four-legged
friends can reduce levels of the cortisol hormone in the blood.

and, when it excessively elevates, it will cause many negative health problems
such as increased blood sugar, high blood pressure, fat accumulation, increased
risk. obese muscles, causing stress…

control cortisol levels.

What reasons make you love dachshunds? Please comment!
Whenever your dachshunds feel uncomfortable, sad, or scared, it always makes you feel worried. Maybe because they love you so much, every action of you can make hurt their feelings. Things below are things your dachshunds might not like.
Not all of them, but dachshunds will easily accept affectionate actions from you. However, keeping your 4-legged friends in your embrace somehow will make them feel cramped, they will consider your actions as an expression of domination. They will try to accept embraces from their beloved owner, it does not mean they like it.
Observing the
body language of dachshunds, hard posture, the stressful expression means that
the dog is not very interested in the action. This is important to warn
children not to hug dachshunds when they feel uncomfortable, avoid having
serious injuries.
Giving orders with too many words
We all love to
talk to dachshunds, it’s almost a habit, but sometimes you forget that
dachshunds won’t understand most of what you say. This is very important in
training and giving commands to dachshunds. Use just a few words when giving
commands like standing, sitting, lying … that will make it easier for
dachshunds to follow your orders.
Yelling at your dogs
All dachshund
breeds have their own limitation, so you will succeed more in training
dachshunds with encouragement rather than yelling at them when they do wrong.
Screams can make them scared, worried, though they can’t understand what you’re
saying.
For example, if your puppy bites your socks or shoes, instead of yelling them, instruct them with the object, after the dog can do it, reward them. Repeat later, they will know what they should do.
Touching their faces
Pleasant
dachshunds will accept the gentle touch by the people they love. On the other
hand, dachshunds can tolerate fingers close to their faces but that doesn’t
mean they like it. If you’ve just met some lovely dog, it’s best to just stroke
their neck, shoulder or chest if you don’t want to have unnecessary injuries.
Making eyes contact
For those who
are pet owners, looking into the eyes of your dachshunds is a sign of love.
However, with strange dachshunds, looking into their eyes means you are
challenging or threaten them. Please be careful!
Not letting them interact with the environment
The scent is
the dachshund’s main tool to help gather information about the environment
around them. For them, walks with multiple markings as well as sniffing are a
way for them to socialize as well as check what’s happening with nearby dachshunds.
If you try to pull them away, it is similar to you are watching the news and
your TV was turned off.
The scent also
plays an important role in helping your dachshunds find their ways back home
and draw their maps.
Putting them in scary situations
Dachshunds also
have fear with somethings, someone or somewhere. For example, some doxie dogs
scare of veterinary clinics. Always make your dogs feel comfortable and safe is
a good idea when you want to take them somewhere they do not like.
Dogs have the
sensitivity of scent ranges from 10,000 to 100,000 times compare with the
human. That means strong scents like detergents or perfumes will make your
dachshunds feel uncomfortable.
You are not in a good mood
You will sometimes get angry, sad or stressed and your dachshund will be your friend because they can feel how you feel! We all have hard days, but if we let the problems persist for too long, your dachshund may be affected. Anyway, it is lucky that dachshunds always have positive energy and make our lives much more interesting.
Leaving the dogs alone too much
Dogs are very emotional, if you leave them alone for too long, not notice them whenever you get home, your puppies will be very sad. Most of us are very busy with our work, however, spend your time playing with your dogs, show them your love whenever you can.

Dachshunds are known as the best friends of humans because of their loyalty. However, according to recent research, everything seems to be the results of biochemical reactions are derived from those “innocent” eyes.
Besides,
dachshunds are a very intelligent creature, they are also very loyal to their
owner, they have been living with the human for more than thousands of years. Although
they are our closest friends, there are things we still do not know about them.
1. They always wag their tails
Why are
dachshunds wagging their tails?
Many people think that when dachshund dogs waving their tails it means they are happy when seeing their owners. However, some research has shown that whenever puppies waving their tails, it means they are about to attack you.
Like some other
animals, when they are in danger, they will make some major actions to scared
the opponent before attacking and waving their tails is one of those actions.
2. They can scent disease
We all know
dachshunds have a very good sense of smell that they can sniff from far away.
However, we still think that dog can barely scent disease, but it has been
proved in some research recently that they can scent disease.
In 2006,
scientists trained dachshunds so they could sniff out diseases like breast
cancer or embryonic cancer and the results were surprisingly high up to 90%.
3. Food for dachshunds
Many people
believe that foods are good for human health will be also good for their
dachshunds. However, this is not true, there is some human food which cannot be
absorbed by dogs.
Nuts like
grapes, raisins, garlic onions or caffeinated varieties can all be harmful to
doxie friends. Even foods like apples can kill your dachshunds.
4. Tobacco also affects the dachshunds’ brain
Tobacco has been considered as toxic and condemned for a long time by the world. It affects the nervous system as well as the respiratory system. Just like humans, dachshunds will also be strongly influenced by cigarette smoke. Because the dachshund’s nose is better than humans, the dog’s lung can be suffered more than human lungs. They can have lung or nose disease permanently.
5. Dachshunds have an intelligence of a 2-year-old baby
Four-legged
friends are very intelligent, they are ranked among the top 10 smartest
animals. However, according to a study of dog scientists, the average
intelligence of dachshunds is equaled to a 2-year-old baby. Dachshunds can
remember 250 words and can do simple math problems such as addition,
subtraction, multiplication, and division.
However, there
will be some dachshunds that are smarter than they can go home with MRT by
themselves.
Dachshunds are not only our pet, but they are also our partner for all these years. They help us guarding our house, make us happy, protect us when needed. There are so many reasons to have a dog next to you. What are you waiting for? Find yourself a cute, little 4-leg friend.
